Venue

This workshop will be the 18th France Kinko-ryu shakuhachi workshop and the 7th official Chikumeisha France workshop organized by the France Chikumeisha Lesson Center フランス竹盟社教場

The venue will be in Franconville, north-west of Paris.

Price and registration

The price is 150€ for the three days, 80€ for beginners (lessons on Friday, free audit participation the other days).

A full remote participation through Zoom is also possible for 80€.

You will then receive detailed information about the workshop and payment.

When payment is complete, you will receive a link to download the material studied during the workshop, and the ID of the Zoom meeting for remote attendance.

General overview of the workshop

  • on Friday November 5, there will be two parallel sessions:
    • In the morning, a session focusing on a simple ensemble piece (Tsuru no Koe), with a beginner to intermediate level of teaching, in parallel with a session on basic techniques (with an advanced level of teachning)
    • In the afternoon, beginners will continue working on Tsuru no Koe and on basic techniques. Advanced players may also attend that session or may prefer go for individual or small group lessons in a master class format.
  • Saturday November 6: focus on Kinko-ryū honkyoku.
  • Sunday November 7: focus on sankyoku

Note: All participants on intermediate to advanced level should take part in the master classes, playing and listening to the other participants to gain also from people's playing. Therefore, everybody should study all the renkan versions in order to gain more from the instruction. It is recommended also to study the solo versions.
